Young debutant Arjun Kapoor is not going through a good time.

The Yash Raj protégé, who makes his debut in May in the Romeo-Juliet adaptation, Ishaqzaade, lost his mother Mona Kapoor to cancer last month.

Arjun has been bravely battling his grief and trying to look after his younger sister with the help of close family and friends.

Surprisingly, it is Katrina Kaif who is has helped Arjun at a time when he needs support.

She recently flew back to Mumbai only to be near Arjun who’s her raakhi-brother and friend.

Mumbai calling

A source close to Katrina says, “Katrina has known Arjun since she first came to Mumbai. At that time, he was seeing Salman’s sister and they — Katrina and Arjun —became friends. She soon began to see him as a brother.

Apparently Katrina, like all those who are close to Arjun, knew his mother’s end was near.

“When Arjun lost his mother, Katrina was shooting for Yash Chopra in London.

But she was unable to fly back immediately because the schedule was in its crucial last lap.

Immediately after she wrapped up the schedule in London, she flew down to Mumbai to be with Arjun.”

Katrina had planned to stay back in London to be with her family for a week since she had no major commitments in Mumbai after the London schedule.

“She, however, decided to fly back to Mumbai for Arjun. She spends every evening with him, just being quietly supportive, not making a big issue out of it, ” says a friend close to Katrina.

We also hear Arjun wants to show Ishaqzaade to Katrina soon. Usually, Yash Raj Films doesn’t show its films to anyone before the release.

But they’re willing to make an exception for Arjun, who’s currently Yash Raj’s blue-eyed boy.

When asked about Arjun, Katrina said, “He’s my buddy and brother. He is coping quite well with the loss. I’m there for him, like any friend. It’s not a big deal.”
